July Meeting Highlights

This month the PMQG beat the heat by staying in and sewing together! Members finished projects, worked on charity bibs and had fun getting to know each other better.

It was also our “The World Isn’t Flat and Neither Is My Quilt” challenge reveal, and there was some fun interpretation of the theme.

Members exchanged some great looking quilted magnets in this month’s swap.

NEXT MONTH:
~ In August we will be making Crisscross Place Mats. These are super easy, fun to make and perfect for gifts. If you’re fast you might have time to layer and turn them.
     Supplies:
        – 4 coordinating fat quarters (tops)
        – Sewing machine, scissors, thread, rotary cutter, ruler and mat
        – Power strips and extension cords
To complete them you will need:
        – 4 batting pieces measuring about 14″ x 20″ each
        – 7/8 yard of backing fabric

~ The August Block of the Month is a Modern Log Cabin.
~ Malinda will present the next Guild Challenge.  We have a spot to showcase our challenges at Mid-Atlantic in February, so let’s rise tot he challenge and show ’em what we’ve got!

Reminders:
~ Bibs for the senior center are due at October’s meeting.
