August Meeting Highlights

This month’s special guest was the lovely
 Alison Glass, fabric designer for Andover Fabrics. Alison shared her process for transferring her art from paper to fabric. She also brought some of her own beautiful quilts and fun fabrics.

Business:
~Gala, Katie and Malinda turned in these adorable quilts for the Riverside NICU. 

~ Blocks for our first Raffle Quilt are coming in! Background fabric was passed out at July’s meeting. You can find the tutorial for making the Wonky Shoo Fly blocks by clicking on the “Projects” tabs above. Blocks are DUE at September’s meeting

~ The PMQG will host its first guild Quilt Show in December in conjunction with Nancy’s open house. All members are encouraged to enter at least one modern quilt. Finish those modern UFOs and support your Guild!

~ Our own Nancy of Nancy’s Calico Patch will share about experiencing  the International Quilt Market. 
~ September’s Block of the Month is an Improv Star Block

~September’s Swap is MODERN Christmas fabrics. Bring as many fat quarters as you would like to swap. These will be a great start for making November’s Swap item (to be announced).

Reminders:
~ Quilt-Along participants (who swapped strips at our March meeting): Create anything you want from your blocks.  Your finished projects are due at the OCTOBER meeting. Directions for making your blocks are HERETIP: Be sure the first seam you rip out is a dark fabric and work down from there.


Weather Challenge quilts are due at October’s meeting. Challenge quilts will be displayed at December’s Quilt Show!

~ Please bring your finished NICU quilts and PeaPods  to any meeting. Details can be found on the “Projects” tab above!
